1. I am planning a city hotel in Colombo-4.
I have this land on the either
side of the Galle Road. Therefore, I have asked the Architect to come up
with a plan in order to get it approved and this will be, with a bridge
across the Galle Road. This project could be so designed like a restaurant
in the sky like a glass dome and a possibility of 100 rooms and also some
apartments which I plan to sell and with that money to build the balance of
the building. This will be mostly for the Indian tourists who are
increasing daily. This will be a city hotel like Renuka at a low price.This
will also have two floors for offices and the rest will be for the hotel.
Total investment will be around 15 Mn USD.
2. I have a site at Uswetakeyiyawa on the North Western side turn-off from
Wattala beyond Pegasus Hotel.
I have already built three floors with six
large rooms overlooking the sea. This needs to be completed. Adjoining
this land there is a further seven acres of land, which is a beautifully
located extending right up to the lagoon, which is connected to the
Hamillton Canal, and also this site adjoins the lake. I have got the
architect, to draw a preliminary conceptual plan. Also I plan to build about
25 Cabanas. This place is a kind of echo Tourism site, with beach frontage
on one side and the lagoon on the other side with the all the flora and
fauna inherent to brackish water. It is also possible to get boats to ply
from there along the Hamilton Canal even up to Wilpattu. Since we own this
land, I can share the profits with the investor and we can get Jetwings
Group, who are interested to run this place and manage it. Total Investment
will be around 2.5 Mn USD.
3、 The third proposal is to form a company called Railway Hotels Ltd.
I will select good Railway Station sites like Mt. Lavinia Hotel, Bentota,
Hikkaduwa to name a few and there might be 25 such Railway Stations with
beach frontage. We will convert these places into hotels. The second and
third floors can be used as hotels and this can be architecturally
designed, whilst the platform and offices will be for the Railway Station.
We also like to have a few luxury trains to ply from the airport to these
places continuously. I believe this is a good idea and I am hopeful that I
will get approval from the Government. Total investment will be around 4Mn
USD.
4. The Monorail Project
IT is still open for an investor to come forward. We could start with the Fort Railway Station to Ratmalana Railway Yard as the
first sector. I will get a Chinese Company to design, install and construct
provided I get an investor who is willing to invest and wait for the return.
If he is interested, I will go for a new feasibility study and let him
decide.
5. I am also interested to have an investor for my 22 roomed small hotel
project at Nuwara Eliya.
The plan is drawn and passed by the Local
Authority. In front of this site which is overlooking the Nuwara Eliya lake
is a dam which has water gushing out and it is a picturesque sight and the
stream in front of the proposed site is also beautiful. In addition to
this, there is also 50 perches of land in front of this proposed site which
we could convert into a picnic site with boat rides etc. Investment will be
around 2.5Mn USD. |
